Many companies utilise dedicated human resources or personnel software packages, which may
in themselves include TOIL tracking modules. However, such packages are
typically only used
by the Human Resources department. This means that managers and team leaders may have
to make do with simpler means of logging staff toil, perhaps by using Microsoft Excel to
build a time off in lieu spreadsheet, or by using Microsoft Access to build
a time off in lieu form.
Tracking TOIL with applications and tools such as these can be quite difficult,
and to set them up in the first place usually requires significant and creative use of macros and
Visual Basic.
This is where Toil Manager comes in, providing a lightweight TOIL
recording solution for the desktop that can be used straight away without even having
to run an installer. The
windows-based interface is intuitive, and makes the management and scheduling of staff
toil easy.
